ดร.ธีรพงศ์ ปานบุญยืน หรือที่รู้จักกันในชื่อ “ดร.เก้า” เป็นนักวิจัยผู้มีความเชี่ยวชาญด้านปัญญาประดิษฐ์
โดยปัจจุบันดำรงตำแหน่งนักวิจัยหลักที่ MARSAIL (Motor AI Recognition Solution Artificial Intelligence Laboratory)
ซึ่งเป็นห้องปฏิบัติการวิจัยแนวหน้าที่บูรณาการเทคโนโลยี AI กับอุตสาหกรรมประกันภัยรถยนต์
ในด้านการศึกษา ดร.เก้า สำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาเอก สาขาวิศวกรรมคอมพิวเตอร์ (วิศวกรรมศาสตรดุษฎีบัณฑิต)
จากจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย โดยใช้ระยะเวลาเพียง 2 ปีครึ่ง ภายใต้การสนับสนุนทุนการศึกษาหลักสูตรดุษฎีบัณฑิต 100
ปีจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย และทุน 90 ปีจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ก่อนหน้านี้
สำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาโทในสาขาเดียวกันจากจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยเช่นกัน ภายในระยะเวลา 1 ปีครึ่ง
ภายใต้ทุนอุดหนุนการศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย
เพื่อเฉลิมฉลองวโรกาสที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวทรงเจริญพระชนมายุครบ 72 พรรษา
โดยสำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาเอกได้ในวัยเพียง 27 ปี
ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงศักยภาพและความมุ่งมั่นในเส้นทางวิชาการอย่างชัดเจน
นอกจากนี้ ดร.เก้ายังได้รับการสนับสนุนทุนระดับสูงสุดจากโครงการ The Second Century Fund (C2F) ใน Track A
สำหรับนักวิจัยหลังปริญญาเอกศักยภาพสูง ของจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย
เพื่อสนับสนุนการวิจัยที่มีอิทธิพลและสร้างผลกระทบต่อวงการเทคโนโลยี AI ในระดับโลก
และเป็นหนึ่งในนักวิจัยไทยที่ได้รับพระมหากรุณาธิคุณรับพระราชทานทุน Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS) ประจำปี
2025 จากสมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ
ดร.เก้ามีความเชี่ยวชาญลึกซึ้งในสาขา Computer Vision ที่ประยุกต์ใช้กับการรู้จำวัตถุ ซีน
และความเข้าใจเชิงความหมายของภาพ รวมถึง Geospatial Intelligence
ที่วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากดาวเทียมและภาพถ่ายทางอากาศเพื่อสนับสนุนการตัดสินใจเชิงพื้นที่
อีกทั้งยังให้ความสำคัญกับ Human-AI Interaction
ซึ่งเป็นหัวใจสำคัญของการสร้างเทคโนโลยีที่เข้าใจและสื่อสารกับมนุษย์ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
ด้วยผลงานที่โดดเด่นและวิสัยทัศน์เชิงลึกในอนาคตของ AI
ดร.เก้าจึงเป็นหนึ่งในนักวิจัยรุ่นใหม่ที่ได้รับการจับตามองอย่างยิ่งในวงการวิทยาการคอมพิวเตอร์ระดับสากล
Dr. Teerapong Panboonyuen, also known as “Dr. Kao,” is a leading researcher in the field of Artificial
Intelligence. He currently serves as the Principal Researcher at MARSAIL (Motor AI Recognition Solution
Artificial Intelligence Laboratory), an advanced AI research lab integrating AI into the automotive industry and
car insurance.
In terms of academic background, Dr. Kao completed his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering (Doctor of Engineering) at
Chulalongkorn University in just two and a half years. His doctoral studies were supported by the 100th
Anniversary Chulalongkorn University Doctoral Scholarship and the 90th Anniversary of Chulalongkorn University
Scholarship. Prior to that, he earned his Master’s degree in the same field from Chulalongkorn University within
one and a half years, under the Graduate Scholarship in Celebration of the 72nd Birthday Anniversary of His
Majesty the King. Notably, Dr. Kao completed his doctoral degree at the age of 27, reflecting his outstanding
academic capability and unwavering dedication.
He has been awarded the highest-level postdoctoral research fellowship under the Second Century Fund (C2F Track
A) from Chulalongkorn University, supporting high-impact research in AI with global significance. He is also
among the few Thai researchers to receive the prestigious Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS) 2025
scholarship, graciously bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
Dr. Kao's expertise lies in Computer Vision—covering object recognition, scene understanding, and semantic
perception—and in Geospatial Intelligence for analyzing satellite and aerial imagery to support spatial
decision-making. He also focuses on Human-AI Interaction, a vital component for developing AI technologies that
can effectively understand and communicate with humans. With his outstanding contributions and forward-looking
vision, Dr. Kao is recognized as a rising figure in the international AI research community.
